About James Lanier
A Patriot of the American Revolution for NORTH CAROLINA with the rank of SECOND LIEUTENANT. DAR Ancestor # A069085
Served in the 8th Regiment, 3rd Division. and at Valley Forge. The Valley Forge Project, the Muster Roll Project has him from December 1777 through June 1778. The Valley Forge Park Alliance. and the Friends of Valley Forge.
James Lanier, was a captain in the light cavalry regiment commanded by Colonel William Washington in the Revolution; later he served under General Anthony Wayne in the campaign against the Indians of the Northwest Territory.
