James Tiffany (Sr.) - 1668-1732, was born in Milton, Massachusetts, the son of "Squire" Humphrey Tiffany (1630-1685) and his wife Elizabeth (maiden name unknown) Tiffany (1645-1708). Circa 1688, James married (first) Bethiah. After Bethiah's death, James became the first husband of Elizabeth (she married second Andrew Grover). James Tiffany (Sr.) died in 1732 in Ashford, Connecticut. CHILD: James Tiffany, Jr. (1697-1776). Find a Grave #40146532.

Married first, Bethiah — she died in Attleboro, Mass., February 27, 1711 ;

Married , second, Elizabeth — she survived him and was the executor of his will ; March 16, 1734, she was m. to Andrew Grover of Norton, Mass.

Elizabeth [Fuller] married first John Shepardson, son of Daniel & Elizabeth (Call) Shepardson, on 9 apr 1694 at Attleboro, Bristol, MA Bay - their children were Ruth, Mehitable, Sarah, Daniel Amos & John Shepardson nAfter the death of John in 1708, she married James Tiffany, son of Humphrey & Elizabeth (Ray) Tiffany, about 1709 - their children were Kezia, Jonathan, Alethia & Noah Tiffany

For a short time after his first marriage, James lived in Swansea, Mass.; but, about 1690, he moved into Attleboro, and there secured the farm on which he built the old house that stood until within a few years, in which many generations of Tiffanys were born and died. The exact date of James Tiffany's death is not known ; but it was between June 28, 1732, when he made his will, and July 26th of the same year, when it was probated.

In the name of God Amen ; the twentieth-eighth day of June 1732. 

James Tifiny of the Town of Attleborough in the County of Bristol in his Majesties province of the Massachusetts Bay ; being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks to be given to god therefor, calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye ; do make and ordain this my last will and Testament.

That is to say principally and first of all I give and Recommend my soul into the hands of god that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent “Christian Burial" at the discretion of my executors: Nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I 'hall receive the same again by the mighty power of god.

And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me in this life, I give demise and dispose in the "followin" manner and form.

Imprimis : I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my dearly beloved wife, accordin as the laws of our province hath provided that is to say the income of the third part of my estate : together with the use of any Room in my dwelling house.

And I do constitute make and ordain Elizabeth my dearly beloved wife together with my Son John Tifinye both joyntly to be executrix and executor of this my last will and Testament.

Item. I give to my well beloved son Joseph "Tifinie" ten Shillings.

Item. I give to my well beloved Son James Tifinye the sum of ten shillings.

Item. I give unto my well beloved son Samuel Tifinie the sum of ten shillings : the Reason why I give unto these my Sons no more of my estate now is "becaus" they had the greater part of their portion before.

Item. I give unto my well beloved Son Benjamin " Tifinye " A hundred Acres of land in Ashford in the Colony of Connecticut

Item. I give unto my daughter Elizabeth's Children the sum of five pound six Shillings and eight pence

Item. I give onto my well beloved daughter Anne the sum of four pounds

Item. I give unto my well beloved daughter Rebecca, the sum of six pounds

Item. I give onto my well beloved daughter Sarah the sum of six pounds

Item. I give unto my well beloved daughter Mary the sum of six pounds

Item. I give unto my daughters Kesiah and Aletheah the sum of thirty pounds each of them, obliging my two younger sons to pay out all their Legacy's “att” the term of yean when my youngest son is three and twenty years old.

I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannull all and every other former testament wills Legacies and bequests and exetors "be" me in any ways before named willed and bequeathed Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year Above, sd
