Ann (Wright) Pugh was the daughter of James and Mary Wright. Her first husband was James McCool, by whom she had five children. Hence the relationship of the Jay and McCool families; grand mother Jay being a half sister to the five McCool children. The Pugh and Wright families were Friends. Ann (Wright )Pugh was a recorded minister among The Friends, in Va.
