Janet Denham is the daughter of James Denham of Westshields. Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae: The Succession of Ministers of the Church of Scotland, iii, pp. 90-1 It cannot be regarded as certain but it seems quite likely, probable even, that she is the daughter of James Denham rather than this man's great-great grandson also James Denham of Westshiell Her date and place of birth are not certainly known but it should perhaps be noted that the lands of Westshiell are located within the barony of Carnwath in Lanarkshire.
