About John Hamilton, of Hamiltonsbawn
of Coronary, Co. Cavan, and Monella, Co. Armagh, ancestor of the Hamiltons of Abbotstown. Married Sarah Brabazon in 1617.

"The fourth brother, John/ married Sarah Brabson, of a creditable family, and had children by her M-hich came to age, Hans, James, and Francis, sons, and Mary and Helen, daughters — of whom more in due time. He was a prudent person, and painfull man ; lived to a good age, and died,^ much lamented and beloved of all that knew him ; was laid in a vault at the church of Mullaghbrack, in y* County of Armagh, which he had prepared for himself and family."
The fourth eldest son of Hans (vicar of Dunlop) was named John. He moved to Cavan/Armagh, and died young at Killyleagh in 1639. One of his sons was named James, who had a son Henry, who had a son James who was an M.P. for Carlow in the time of George II. John Hamilton was born circa 1576.1 He was the son of Reverend Hans Hamilton and Janet Denham.1 He married Sarah Brabazon, daughter of Anthony Brabazon, in 1617.1 He died on 4 December 1639.1
He lived at Monella, County Armagh, IrelandG, (now Hamilton's Bawn).2 He lived at Coronary, County Cavan, Ireland.3
