Jehu Jackson moved to Ohio as a young man.Farming became unprofitable in N.C. for Quakers as they did not accept slavery and when slavery was introduced into N.C. it presented unfair competition for them in their farming. He and wife Lucy were living in Montgomery Co., OH when their first daughter was born in1814. Theywere living in Marion Co.,OH when their second child was born.They moved to White River,Randolf Co.,In before 1819. They remained in Randolf Co.,IN until1838 when the family moved to Van Buren Co.,Mo (now Cass Co.) Most of the childrenwent with their parents to Mo.
