* 11. JEREMIAH4 BURTCH, (Jeremiah3, Jonathan2, Thomas1) was born 26 May 1724 and m. Sarah Bromer 24 Oct. 1742 at Stonington, CT. He came to Beekman with his father and was taxed in Beekman and Pawling as Jeremiah Jr. from June 1747 through Feb. 1763 and then as Jeremiah until the end of the lists in Pawling. His tax listings were £2 in 1747/8, £1 from Feb. 1753 through June 1767, £2 in June 1770, £3 in June 1775 and £3 in 1778 and 1779.
Jeremiah Burtch was mentioned in several land transactions in Pawling and his farm was near the border with Fredericksburgh. He was near Timothy Sabin 31 May 1788 and was noted as on the road to Franklin in 1801. [M 5:239; 10:488]. He was probably the man listed as on a farm in lot 7 of the "undivided" in 1760.
We believe he was the father of Jeremiah Burtch who married Patty Prindle.
