Jerusha (Mayhew) Eatton descends from Thomas Mayhew, a Nantucket founder.
"Jerusha b. about 1654. m. 1. Joseph Wing of Sandwich 12 April 1682. 2. Thomas Eaton of Shrewsbury, N.J. before 1688."[1]

Jerusha "Mayhue" and Joseph Wing were married 12 Apr 1676 (crossed out with 1686 written above, also crossed out) in Yarmouth, Mass.[2]

It's unknown where Banks got the 1682 date; the crossed out date in Yarmouth records is also confusing. Some trees split the difference and use 12 Apr 1672.

Her second husband Thomas Eatton's will named Jerusha (transcribed Jeguisah), a son-in-law transcribed incorrectly as Joseph "Wines", and an expected chlid, who was John Eatton.

"John West, d. 1728; md. 10; 15; 1694, Jane (Wing, dau. Joseph and Jerusha (Mayhew) Wing), Jerusha Mayhew, mother of Jane md, (2) Thomas Eaton, who came from Goodhurst, Co. Kent, Eng. and landed in R. I., and after marrying widow Jerusha went to Monmouth Co. New jersey having Mch. 25 1687, a warrant for 100a. being of Shrewsbury, at Passequenecqua, east Jedidiah Allen, west Francis Borden, north Burlington path... His wife died in Shrewsbury 26; 9; 1689, just 8 months after birth of her child, she named John Eaton... [he was] elected to the Assembly 1727-1749."[3]
