Military: 1."This is to certify that Michael Koppenhofer of Bethel
Township, Berks Co. PA, was a private 5th class in Captain
George Battorf's 2nd Company; Colonel Henry Spyker's 6th
Battalion of Bethel Township, Berk's County Pennsylvania, May 7,
1777. In 1780 was paid twenty-five pounds for service in the
Berks County Militia. One of the signers (1779) of the
Remonstrance of Berks County."
Removed from Berks
County to the Lykens valley in Upper Paxton Twp. (now Mifflin
Twp.) Dauphin Co. where he purchased a farm, April 15, 1801. He
sold the farm to his son, Michael on April 15, 1801 for 350
pounds. He and his wife were living with their son Michael in
the 1810 census.
