About Johannes Paulus Bieber

Johannes/Johann was the youngest of three Alsatian brothers who emigrated from Alsace to Pennsylvania. (For more than 300 years, France and Germany fought for control of Alsace; today it is a region of France.) The Bieber brothers (immigrants Johannes, George and Theobald ("Dewalt") were from an Alsatian German family - and many Pennsylvanian Biebers were their descendants.

Brothers Johannes Bieber and George Bieber (1698 - 1775) were both buried at the Christ "Mertz" Lutheran Church of Dryville Cemetery of Berks County, PA. (Near Bieber Creek, that church was earlier known as Bieber Church.) Johannes had lived more of his adult life in Berks County, PA, while George had lived more of his adult life in Chester County, PA.

Their brother Theobold "Dewalt" Bieber" (1690 - 1769) was buried 5.6 miles south of Dryville at the Beiber - Lesher Burial Ground, near Oley (Friedensburg), Berks County, PA.
