Father, Christian, arrived in Philadelphia aboard "Francis and Elizabeth", Sept. 21, 1742. Christian's Mother, Mary Holden, died on voyage, and was buried at sea.

"Johannes Gnaegi married Elizabeth Stutzman, and he lived on the farm now owned by Elias and Jacob E. Gnagey, 2.5 miles from Meyersdale, Somerset Col, PA. F.H., M. of the Amish Mennonite church. Occupation: Farmer."
