Johannes Hermanus Redelinghuys attorney at law, notary public and conveyancer 1 born 11 December 1807, Ganzekraal, Rivier Zondereind, Caledon 2 baptized 14 February 1808 3 died 28 June 1882, Weltevreden, Sea Point 4 buried Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery, Main Road, Observatory, Cape Town Notes: Only the three daughters still living were mentioned in his death notice.

He was admitted to practice at the bar in 1830. At the time of his death he was the father of the Side Bar of the Supreme Court of the Cape Colony.

He was interred in the Family Vault of the Overbeeks in the Somerset Road Dutch Reformed Cemetery but subsequently removed to the new Redelinghuys Vault in Mowbray Cemetery (6th June 1887). Plots 117 and 118B.
