probably went 1767 to America, left his wife and children in Germany and married in the USA again. Emigrierte to America via the Netherlands with the "Countess OF Sussex", lived in Lancaster, Bedford, west & Mercer CO.
Johannes Theodor Hofius (son of the Johannes Hofius and the Sibylle Antoinette Berck) was born at the 31.Juli 1730 in Iserlohn. He married the widow Phillipine Helene stone radiator at the 2.Februar 1755 geb. Land man. It died at the 15.Oktober 1794 in Dhuenn.
Johannes Theodor lived with its family as a buyer in Limburg, it probably left its homeland in the autumn 1765, in order to emigrate without its family to America.
It emigrierte over Rotterdam with the ship "Countess OF Sussex" and reached at the 7.Oktober 1765 Philadelphia. Still on the same day it carried out its loyalty oath in the at that time still British colony.
From Philadelphia it continued to pull to Heidelberg (today: Schaefferstown, Lebanon County), here he was first in writing mentioned reformed schulmeister in the "Reformed Church School". Its further career/development is quite uncertain, we knows that it after Bedford County (approx. 1769) and far after Westmoreland County (late Washington County) (approx. 1769-1772) pulled. When Pennsylvania at the 12.Dezember became 1787 part of the American union, he probably was in the western Pennsylvania.
Probably 1772 in Bedford County he married Nancy Baker, with which he had still some children. Johann Theodor died in Hickory Corners in the proximity of Sharon, Pa in the year 1808, Nancy Baker died in Clinton Township, Venango CO in the year 1820.
Johan arrived in Philadelphia in October 1765 and took the oath of allegiance to the then Brittish Colony of Pennsylvania on October 7, 1765. From Philadelphia he went to Scheafferstown, Lebanon County, where he was the first pastor-school master in the Reformed Church there.
