About John Adams
John Adams was born 1763 to John and Susan (Wood) Adams in Halifax County, Virginia.
He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War under General Green [Greene(?)] and, at just 18, fought in the battle of Guilford Courthouse, North Carolina, 15 March 1781. He continued in the army until the close of the War. His name may be the one listed in Virginia Military Militia[2].
He married Ester Turner of Gloucester County, Virginia, and they had the following children: Sarah, Samuel and Nancy.
In middle age, he grew quite fleshy, weighing over 300 pounds at the time of his death.
