John Blakiston

John Blakiston is the son of Nehemiah Blakiston and Elizabeth Gerard. Grandson of Thomas Gerard. He married Anne Guibert 1691 St Mary's Co, MD

John Gerard married Anne Guibert and inherited Bassford from his father. Actually Rose Tucker was to get Bassford Manor and it was to revert to John upon her death. However she remarried, and John got the land. He sold it to Gov. Thomas Motley in 1677. He was given this land by a decision of the court. It was customary in those days that if the wife remarried all property were given to the children. .
