Salisbury Branch: Third Generation: John Eaton was b. in Salisbury, Mass in 1646. He married Mary in 1684 and appears to have occupied a part of his late Father's estate on 'the neck lot of upland in Salisbury.; He seemed to have a strong passion for real estate. Not satisfied with what was offered in Salisbury, he extended his purchases into Maine into Winnegance Cove, as far as 25 miles N.E. of Portland. The names of his sons John and William mentioned first among the sons in the will, are omitted in the family record as returned to the clerk of the town. As the sons are evident 'named in the order of birth in the will,' they are here inserted in their proper place. Will was dated Jan. 15, 1718. He died Jan. 17, 1718.
