JOHN J. FELDHAKE DIES AT FAIRFIELD

John J. Feldhake, for nearly eight years a resident of Effingham and a former hardware merchant here, died unexpectedly while asleep Sunday morning at the homer of his daughter Mrs Frank Koors at Fairfield, I11 where he and Mrs Feldhake have been making their home for a number of years. He had been up and around as usual up to the day of his death The deceased was approaching his eighty-fifth year, having been born on a farm two miles north of Effingham on August 15, 1850. When a young man he went to Texas and conducted a hardware store at Waco for a few years, but returned to Effingham shortly after his marriage in 1878 to Veronica Seith, who survives him.

Also surviving him are five children Jos. A. Feldhake of Effingham, Mrs Frank Koors of .Fairfield, Mrs. Fred Schumacher of Urbana, and Mrs. Martin J. Finn and Mrs. James O'Hara of Indianapolis. Two sons preceded him in death, Paul and Otto. The deceased had fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Henry Feldhake of East Jefferson street is a brother. The deceased was brought from Fairfield Tuesday to the, home of his son, Joseph A. Feldhake, at 328 N. Third street. The funeral was held at St Anthony's Church at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning interment following, in St Anthony Cemetery. Effingham Record
