Obituary: Charleston Sunday Gazette Mail, November 17, 1974:

"John Fox, SUTTON - John Byrne Fox, 85, of Sutton, died Saturday in a Lewis County hospital after a long illness.

He was a former mayor of Sutton, a retired Justice of the Peace in Braxton County and had formerly served as a Deputy Assessor and Deputy County Clerk for Braxton County. He was a lifelong resident of the county and was a Baptist.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, with the Rev. Bruce Woods officiating. Burial will be in Sutton Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home."
