John (Greer), Jr., probably born before 1750, is listed in Wilkes County on the Census of 1787, apparently with a wife, 4 sons and 4 daughters. Before the 1790 Census he moved into Tennessee, where he was one of the very early settlers of the Nashville area (Davidson County). His estate was administered there on 21 September 1803. One of his sons was probably Berry Greer, purchaser at the sale of the estate." (OUR GREER FAMILY HERITAGE, 1983, by Thomas H.
