This John Harmar was not a Greek scholar, and apparently not that much of a scholar at all - a Winchester schoolboy in 1597, he matriculated (registered) at New College 16 Dec 1603 (age 20), but there is no record of his graduating. (That would put John's birth date at c. 1583 - highly suitable to be the father of five children between 1603-1613.)
Married undergraduates were rare (and not encouraged), but not unknown.
