About John Harris [Convict "Scarborough" 1788]
John HARRIS was born c1759
John was convicted of theft and was sentenced to 14 years transportation to America. He was then convicted for "feloniously returning from transportation" and sentenced to transportation for life. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 26/1/1788 on "Scarborough". John was one of around 15 Jewish convicts on the First Fleet.
John was sent to Norfolk Island on "Supply" in January 1790
John had a relationship/marriage with Mary GREEN from c1790 Norfolk Island and they had the following children

- Susannah "Hannah" 1797
In January 1801 John returned to England on "El Plumier" taking with him son John, but leaving Mary and his 2 daughters behind. The 2 daughters were left in the care of his relative James LARRA, so perhaps Mary had died by this time. (James LARRA/LARA was the girls uncle)
