John J. Houser, 64, of 1630 Geller St. died at 2:30 p.m. yesterday at his winter home in Estero., Fla. of an apparent heart attack. He was a native of Cleveland, Oh. and had lived most of his life in Fort Wayne.

He retired in 1969 from International Harvester Co., after 43 years as a checker. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society and belonged to Council 451 of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Florence; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Smith, two sons, Jerome J. and Robert J., and one brother Louis M., all of Fort Wayne, and 15 grandchildren.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Tom Mungovan Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at the church, the Rev. Leonard Fullenkamp officiating, Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. The Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus will conduct services at 8 p.m. Thursday. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursdy at the funeral home.
