"The account of this branch of the family in One Thousand Years of Hubbard History is confused and in part inaccurate."

John3 (John2, George1) was born at Wethersfield, Connecticut, 12 Apri 1655; died at Glastonbury after 1737 and 1746.

He married Mary ________, died at Glastonbury 8 March 1721/2 in her 62nd year (gravestone) so was born about 1660.

He was Deputy to the Conn. General assembly many times between 1700 and 1724. He was called Sergeant in most of the early Connecticut records, making him a qualifying ancestor for the societies of Colonial Wars and Colonial Dames.

18 Jan 1725/26, he conveyed land "for love" to sons Isaac and David.

Wife of Josiah Bugbee. Daughter of John Hubbard and Rebecca Wells. ( Info found here: Pg74, One thousand years of Hubbard history, 1866 to 1895 Descendants of John Hubbard of Pomfret, Conn.)

In the history of Ashford, Deacon Josiah and Sarah were prominent in carving out a township during the wild and sometimes dangerous era. Josiah is noted to be on a committee to choose the "school - dames" when the schools were being built. Sarah Bugbee was one of the "dames" hired.
