Was one of the first prospectors at the Angwa river in 1891 pegged 2 claims registered in lomagundi,1 was ayreshire mine north of banket,the other on the angwa river.
Owned a farm near ayres poort on the old lomagundi rd. which he gave to c.j.vanstaden for considerations shown in the past. Also owned a block of farms CARRUTHERS VALE"in the marandellas district.
Crossed the Zambezi in 1902 prospecting for copper for the SA copper trust, had prospecting rights for the Ayrshire mine. He cut the road from sinoia to the zambezi.(1902) prospecting for copper & was>
