About John Stewart of Culbeg
JOHN STEWART OF CULBEG
John Stewart of Culbeg may be the son of William Stewart of Morphie, although evidence for this is presently wanting. The Heraldry of the Stewarts, etc., p. 32 He held one half of the lands of Culbeg and Culmoir in right of his wife Agnes Ker. He is very probably the father of Arthur Stewart of Culbeg, since Agnes Ker was Arthur's mother. RMS: charter 2250 on pp. 476-77.
