John Wilkerson (1730-1806) lived in Granville Co., NC up to about the late 1780's at which time he started selling off his land along Grassy and Bearskin Creeks. All of John Wilkerson's children (with the exception of maybe Nathaniel Wilkerson b. 1788 in Georgia according to his 1850 Census record) were born in either Virginia or North Carolina. By 1790, John Wilkerson's children are shown to be in Wilkes Co., GA. John Wilkerson (1730-1806) wrote a will in 1799 and was proven in November of 1806 in Wilkes Co., GA. In his will, John Wilkerson named most of his children: Francis Wilkerson, Thomas Wilkerson, Samuel Wilkerson, Ann Harrison (wife of Vincent Harrison), Pleasant Wilkerson, Bailey Wilkerson, Polly Wilkerson, Sherod Wilkerson, Jesse Wilkerson, Nathaniel Wilkerson, and John Wilkerson. Son Hazelwood Wilkerson was one of the executors of the will. Not named in the will was Martha Wilkerson who had married George Malone...son of Isham Malone.
