On November 22, 1776, patriot John Willcocks, a member of “Captain Marsh’s Light Horse Troop” died at age 49. He was shot and wounded in General Washington’s army on November 10. He died twelve days later at home in what is now the Watchung Reservation. He is buried in the Willcocks and Badgley family cemetery at the Deserted Village of Feltville in Berkeley Heights
