John was tried at the Court of Great Sessions at Glamorgan in Mar 1790 for stealing 18 guineas in gold and 20 shillings in silver from the purse which was inside the breeches of Jenkin Jones.

John was convicted and sentenced to 7 years transportation. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 13/10/1791 on "Albermarle".
