John Winchester, is likely the John baptized at Cranbrook, Kent, England on May 11, 1611 and a son of Richard Winchester who died at Cranbrook in 1628. [1] [2]
John has a sister Elizabeth who married Isaac Stedman and came to New England with her family on the Elizabeth from London, sailing to New England on April 17, 1635. [3]
John Winchester, aged 19, came to New England in the Elizabeth in April, 1635 as servant to Clement Bates.
John, of Hingham, married Hannah Sealis of Scituate on October 15, 1638. [5] Hannah was baptized at Biddenden, Kent on January 8, 1614/15, daughter of Richard Sealis [1] [2] and his second wife Margery (?nee Ashenden) Lea. [6]
In her father Richard's will, written on January 17, 1653/4, he left his share in lands in Cohasett and his house and barn, among other items, to his two daughters Hannah Winchester and Hester Jackson. He left his wearing apparel to John Winchester and Samuel Jackson. [5]
John died at Muddy River on April 25, 1694, aged almost 83 years. [1] [2]
His will was dated on June 17, 1691 and proved on June 15, 1694. In it he names:

sons Josiah and John, executors daughter Mary Drew/Druce grand daughter Mary Winchester, daughter of Jonathan deceased [1] [2] His estate was appraised at L307 10s, with the land portion being L267. [1] [2]
His widow Hannah died at Muddy River on September 18, 1697. [1] [2]
