Jonathan Hayward was born 10 October 1686 in Mendon, Massachusetts. He was the son of Samuel Hayward and Mehitable Thompson.[1]
Jonathan married by about 1706 Elizabeth Warfield, daughter of John Warfield and Hester Harbor. Jonathan and Elizabeth had the following children:[2]
After the death of his wife Elizabeth on 28 Aug 1736, Jonathan supposedly had a second wife, but no record of this marriage has been found.[2][5]
Jonathan married Sarah Palmer, the widow of William Sprague on 14 August 1753 in Mendon.[6]
Jonathan passed away 14 July 1760 in Mendon, Massachusetts.[7][8]
Ballou's History of Milford mistakenly states that Jonathan married Elizabeth, the daughter of Job Warfield and Hannah Randall. Ballou has mistaken John for Job. John Warfield was married to Hannah Randall as his third wife, but his daughter Elizabeth was from his first marriage to Hester Harbour. Sic: not the John Warfield who married Hannah Randall.]
