Jonathan Holmes was probably born between 1686 and 1696.

He married Teuntje Hendrickson, daughter of Daniel Hendrickson and Catherine Van Dyke, before 1716.

He was made an executor of the will of Daniel Hendrickson on 16 November 1727 at Middletown, Monmouth Co., New Jersey; proved 29 Jan 1727/28. Daniel Hendricks of Middletown, Monmouth Co., gent. Wife Tryntye. Children - Hendrick, Catharine, Jonaytye, Gheesye, Teuntye, Maykye, Anne, Frances, John, William, Daniel (under age); nephew Daniel, son of brother William. Land on Conescunck Neck and at Barnegatt, a farm formerly Benjamin Stout's, another bought of Stephen Warne, two lots bought of Jarat Wall and John Wall resp., salt meadow at Shoal Harbour, a lot in Amboy, bought of Stephen Wane. Personal estate. Executors: son Hendrick with sons-in-law Rooloff Shank and Jonathan Holmes junior. Witnesses: Cornelis Wyckoff, Johannis Luister, Corneles Dooren, William Lawrence junior.

∼Holmes-Hendrickson House in Pleasant Valley. Called Jonathan Holmes Jr. to distinguish him from his uncle and cousin of the same name who lived nearby. Birth and death accurate within a year or so but not exact. Will proved in 1768. Loads of info in the Monmouth County archives.
