in the neighborhood of his wife Bethiah Allen and family

who lived adjacent to his father's homestead in present Lincoln, RI.

Before 1708, February 9 - 1711, February 2- His wife Bethiah Allen died.

1713, November 28- He sold to Andrew Hartley, of Attleborough, MA,

"50 acres of land in the North Purchase, lying by the new road that goeth to the wading river."

Circa 1720- Settled in Scituate/Foster, RI with most of his siblings.

All of his siblings settled in either Scituate/Foster or Glocester, RI.

He built a house near Round Hill circa 1720, which is still standing

on Tucker Hollow Road, Foster, RI, at the bottom of the hollow near a shallow pond.

The house is owned (1989) by James Alan and Landen Lucinda Egan.

1720, June 6- Selected Hogg Constable with two others

at a Providence town meeting moderated by his uncle William Hopkins.

1721- He built a horse powered gristmill a little northeast

of the junction of the road toward Killingly and the Ponagansett River, now Foster, RI.

1723- By this year his brothers Ezekiel and William had built the town's first waterpowered gristmill and sawmill on the Ponagensett. The house built by Ezekiel Hopkins circa 1720 still stands at the corner of Winsor Road and the old Danielson Turnpike, a little east of the mill pond, Foster, RI.

1729, November 9- He purchased 157 acres of undivided land in Providence Township west of the Seven Mile Line in the area soon to became Scituate, RI in 1730/1. He purchased this land from Roger Williams (not the same man who founded RI) for 15 pounds and 16 shillings.

1733, November 10 - Documented as a resident of Scituate, RI- the part which was set off as Foster, RI in 1781. He made a gift deed to his son Oziel, of 100 acres of land, and on 23 November 1733, a simuliar deed to his son Joseph, Jr. of "a part of his homestead farm" situated therein. This land was at or near Round Hill, which later came under the Town of Foster, RI when it was set off from Scituate in 1781.
