About Josephine Vomastic

Passed Away Sunday Shawano County Advocate, Tuesday, June 10, 1924

Another old settler of the Town of Waukechon passed away Sunday morning. Mrs. Matt Vomastic, aged 82 years, passed away after being sick for about a week with pneumonia. She had been making her home with her son, James J. Vomastic and family, the past year, and it was there that she died.

The deceased was born in Bohemia and came to the United States with her husband 54 years ago. They settled in Manitowoc first, where they lived two years, then coming to Shawano County, settling on a farm in that town, living there ever since. Mr. Vomastic passed away 18 months ago.

Four sons and daughters are left or morn a loving mother, they being Mrs. Anna Bohman of Marquette, Mich.; John, of Waukechon; Frank Vomastic who lives in Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Emma McMahon of Chicago; Mrs. Rose Hampton of Detroit, Mich.; Miss Frances of Milwaukee; Chas. Vomastic of the Town of Belle Plaine; and James J. Vomastic of Waukechon, who lives on the homestead.

The funeral will be held at the (St. Wenceslaus) Catholic church in Waukechon Wednesday morning. All the sons and daughters will be there except Frank, who lives in Canada, as his wife is sick in the hospital.

The deceased was very well known in her home town and had a great many friend, having made them by her long residence in that town.
