". . . Die Mutter, Juliane Loewenthal, geborene Feist, geboren am 12. Januar 1859, stammte aus Bendorf (heute Rheinland-Pfalz). Elfriedes Vater, der Prokurist Moses Loewenthal, geboren 1853 in Lennep bei Remscheid, verstarb bereits 1930. Er wurde auf dem jüdischen Friedhof in Mülheim beigesetzt, wo noch heute sein Grabstein zu finden ist."

Translation: ". . .The mother, Juliane Loewenthal, born Feist, born on January 12, 1859, came from Bendorf (today Rhineland-Palatinate). Elfriede's father, the authorized officer Moses Loewenthal, born in 1853 in Lennep near Remscheid, died in 1930. He was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Mülheim, where his tombstone can still be found today."
