About Karl or Carl? (Charles) Buchhold

Carl's uncle on his mother's side, August Fabel, was in the leather business with Conrad & Fabel Leather Company with offices in Louisville and Cincinnati. August had immigrated to the US before Carl and his brothers Rudolph and Adolph. When Rudolph and later, Carl and Adolph came to America, August gave them positions with the the leather company.

"Carl married Settie Heimberger (1862-1912). Her family were the photographers who produced the old pictures I [Mary Jane (Yann) Stapp] have of the family while they lived in New Albany [many of the pictures may be viewed on this Geni site - see Wayne's Buchhold/Hollis Family Album]. Her family was also connected to the Sauer famly, whose descendant married one of Rudolph's daughters, Lissetta."

Carl was killed in 1922 when he was struck by a streetcar when crossing the street in Louisville"...
