Several years ago I found that Matthias was in Philadelphia and must have stayed there for nearly a year. I then found that an Aunt Marie had come to America ahead of Matthias and that must be where he stayed.

BAUER as her last name is not proven. Only a possibility by older genealogists.
The only child with a last initial is John from military records. The written "L" could also be a "S" The handwriting of the S and L can look alike. The names associated with the family are Stearn and Leaman. It has not been proved that she is the daughter of Andreas Bauer. I believe we need to research this a lot more.
Cathrina or Catrina Gish was married to Johann Mathias Gish/Gisch about 1734 Lancaster Co, Pa. they had children Christian, Anna Katerin, John L, Katherine, David, Abraham, Jacob, Anna Maria. Her parents names are unknown.

Christian Gish is her son, Christian Lauer is Mathias cousin, Who is Conrad Mark?? A Relative of Catrina?
Guardians of children are Christian Lauer(cousin to Mathias, Christian Kish (son), and Conrad Mack/Mark 1757 (I have a real copy of this and it looks like Mark) "Know all Men by the present that we Christian Gish, Christian Lauer and Conrad Mark, John Stern and John Leman. John Stern are the guardian of some of the Gisch children. How is he related??
Why I believe that Catrina Gisch is not the daughter of Andreas Bauer. In the Gish books, "Mathias Gish of White Oak" and "Gish Footprints in the Sands of Time", they only suggest that is is a possibility that Mathias married someone who was on the boat with him when he immigrated on the "Pennsylvania Merchant" in 1733. They had no proof. They also suggested that Christian Gish, son of Mathias and Katrina, married a daughter of another shipmate. That was proven false 20 years.
I think it is more likely that one of the above men, Conrad Mark or John Stern or John Leaman are related to Catrina. We do not have any Bauer coming in to be guardians of minor children or to witness any court records.
The Bauer's on the Pennsylvania Merchant were Under men Andreas Bour, under women Cathrina Bourin and Maria Bourin, under children Anna Bourin and Margaret Bourin
There is also a Jerrick Adam Bouk(Bour). In one translation of the records, I have seen that Jerrick Adam was Bour and that Cathrina was his wife.
Jan 11 1791 Book 1788-1791 page 318-319 (wife of Mathias, Catherine Gish has died) "The court appoints John Stern guardian of the estates of Anna Maria Gish, Abraham Gish and Jacob Gish minor children of John Gish late of Mountjoy township, Yoeman (?Leaman) deceased during their minority, respectfully (their being several over the age of fourteen years) agreeable to their written application for that purpose. The "court appoints John Stern of Mountjoy township guardian over the estates of Mathias Gish and Catherine Gish minor children of John Gish, Yoeman deceased during their minority, they being several years under the age of minority.
September 1791 misc book 1791=1796 Lancaster co John Stern dies later in 1791 and the minor children of John Gish pick John Leaman as their guardian
