About Kathryn Rose Miller
Kathryn Rose (Deibert) Miller, the daughter of Anton and Theresa (Klein) Deibert, was born on April 17, 1926, at Verendrye, N.D. She died at the age of 85 years on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Heart of America Long Term Care Center in Rugby.
Kathryn was raised on the family farm and received her education through the eighth grade in Verendrye. She was united in marriage to Alfan Miller on June 20, 1946, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. The couple started their married life in Verendrye and later moved to Granville and then to a farm near Karlsruhe where they ranched. In 1966 the family moved to Berwick and then in 1975 to Towner where Kathryn had the opportunity to attend daily Mass and her spiritual life grew. Kathryn entered the long-term care center in July 2011 due to failing health.
Kathryn was a loving wife and a very busy mother and homemaker, raising 14 children. She was an awesome cook, gardener and quilter, making each of her children and grandchildren a quilt. She was very involved and active in St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and the Towner community, which was proven when she was honored as "Queen" of the 125th Towner Celebration in July 2011. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family; she especially enjoyed the babies and playing Liverpool rummy.
She was preceded in death by her husband (March 24, 1987); four sisters, Elizabeth Dosch, Tillie Haberlack, Helen Burckhard and Mary Bohl; two brothers, Frank and Joe Deibert; a son-in-law, Roger Erven; and her parents.
