LANESBORO -- The funeral for Kenneth I. Wangen will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, with the Rev. Kerry Eversole officiating. Burial will be in Lanesboro Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Lanesboro American Legion.

Mr. Wangen, 68, of Lanesboro, a retired auto mechanic and lifelong Lanesboro resident, died Saturday (May 11, 1996) at his home.

He was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Lanesboro. On July 23, 1955, he married Shirley Eithun at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro. Mr. Wangen served in the Army in Korea from 1950 to 1952. He was a member of the Lanesboro American Legion.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve of Rochester and Mike of Lanesboro; three daughters, Sherri (Mrs. Bill) Briggman of Lanesboro, Kathy (Mrs. Kevin) Young of Estherville, Iowa, and Barb (Mrs. Scott) Laganiere of Fountain; 13 grandchildren; four brothers, James and Peter, both of Harmony, Palmer of Canton and Merlin of Sparta, Wis.; and five sisters, Marian (Mrs. Ellert) Bothun and Ruth (Mrs. James) Beatty, both of Rochester, Ella (Mrs. Juel) Olstad of La Crosse, Wis., Orillie (Mrs. Erlyn) Iverson of Byron and Gladys (Mrs. Marlin) Ziemer of St. James, Minn. A grandson preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.@et
