Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Elstad Lutheran Church for Mrs. Bertha Wangen, 84, who died Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Mulder Health Care Facility in West Salem, Wis. Rev. R. K. Livdahl officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
The former Bertha Olson, she was born March 12, 1893, in Fillmore County, the daughter of John and Mary Olson. On March 24, 1917, she married Edward Wangen. They farmed in the Lanesboro area until retiring.
Servivors are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Ellert (Marian) Bothun, Austin, Minn., Mrs. Juel (Ella) Olstad, La Crosse, Wis., Mrs. James (Ruth) Beatty, Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Erlyn (Orillie) Iverson, Byron, Minn., Mrs. Marlin (Gladys) Zilmer, St. James, Minn.; five sons, James and Kenneth, Lanesboor, Palmer of Harmony, Peter of Canton, and Merlin, Sparta, Wis.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Alfred and Selmer Olson, both of Lanesboro. Six brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
