• Died on 25 September 1916 at Somme, France, killed in action.
• Educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.
• Commissioned in February 1900 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, in the service of the Grenadier Guards.
• Fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.
• Held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire in 1907.
• Gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Reserve of Officers.
