Mrs. Lizette Jacob is # 1366 on the 1907 Wooster Roll where she is identified as the sister of Henry Pedoniquot # 415 (who just before 1907 moved from Canada to Bark River, Michigan). Lizette also is the mother of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wabigoni of Sheshegwaning Reservation who, apparently because of her marriage to Robert Wabigoni, relinquished part of her rights in Canada. Lizette's traditional name is reported as "Awanokwe" meaning "Foggy woman" but that name and its translation require scrutiny and comment by those with expertise in nuances of the Anishinaabemowin language and Potawatomi culture.
In 1907 when Mrs. Lizette Jacob was age 60 she was living at Manitowaning, Manitoulin Island, Ontario where she held full rights in Canada.
Manitowaning is the principal community in the township of Assiginak and features an excellent natural harbour. "Founded" in 1836 as a centre of Manitoulin Island's Aboriginal education, Manitowaning was a regular port of call for schooners and steamboats from many points on the Great Lakes. As of 2016 the old steamboat wharf is now part of the community's Museum Heritage Complex, home of the SS Norisle. Cardwell Street in Manitowaning continues east of the community, becoming the primary access road to the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve.
