About Lorenzo Onrubia
In 1900, at the age of 14, he was one of the first three Filipinos to study in the US. The other two were Juan Tecson and Santiago Artiaga. He would complete the high school program of the University of Michigan. In 1903, he would be in the first group of US colonial government-sponsored pensionados. By 1917, he was assistant engineer for the City of Manila's Department of Engineers and Public Works (Streets & Bridges Division). He would marry the widow of Juan.
