About Lot Bergstresser
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/96104224/BERG
Lot was made the first president of the Berrysburg Seminary when the stockholders held their first election on June 10, 1859.
Husband of Jemima Snyder Bergstresser, he was the father of Peter who was also affiliated with the seminary.
Kind fellow contributor Carol Bergstresser adds that he was the son of John Philip Bergstresser (1750-1840) and Helena Heller (1748-1807).
This is slightly at odds with the book "The BERGSTRESSER Family in America", Vol II, Wayne V. JONES, 1998, pg 31-32 where he is listed as Lot Bergstresser, son of John and Phoebe (Wilkinson) Bergstreser, married to Jemima Snyder, eleven children: Peter Snyder, Henry Clay, Joanna, Sarah Jane, Mary Alice, Emeline, Phebe Ellen, Clara Estella, Edwin Lot, Charles Milford, and John Clinton.
The primary difference between Carol's account and this one is that the book is giving an additional generation, that is, the book says essentially that Helen was Lot's grandmother and John Philip his grandpa; and from there, their son John married Phoebe and had Lot, among others.
