The 1900 Federal Census shows Louis (born Sept 1854) as day laborer, living near Jordan, Scott Co, MN with wife Fredricka (Dec 1859), Minnie (Sept 1883), Louis (July 1885), Amanda (Dec 1886), Lizzie (Jan 1888), William (Apr 1890), Ezra (Sept 1891), Clara (Sept 1892), Jennie (Jan 1895), Clarence (Jan 1896), and Mabel (Sept 1898).

Louis was a groundskeeper for the Town & Country golf course in St. Paul (per Marion & Ralph).

From the Edina Sun-Current article about the Sept 1988 Aicher cousin reunion:

"The extended family is descended from Louis and Rachel Aicher, who raised 11 children while

potato-farming in Wisconsin." "A tale all the cousins appreciated was about the Aicher family leaving Nebraska back in the 1800s. They traveled by covered wagon, fording the Missouri River to reach Iowa without incident."

"At the family residence 2157 St. Anthony Ave, St. Paul in his 62nd year, Louis Aicher, beloved husband of Rachel Aicher, and father of Mrs Otto Kunert (Tillie), Jennie, Clarence and Mabel (Mae?) of St. Paul, Mrs Wm. Triden (Millie) of St. Louis Park, Minn, Louis Aicher Jr, William, Ezra and Mrs. John Nesvold (Amanda) of Barron, Wis., Mrs. Otto Hafermann (Lizzie) of Lydia, Minn., Mrs Geo. Wegner (Clara) of Groton, S. Dak., and brother of H.E. (Henry) Aicher of Minneapolis, John, William and Mrs. Max Wegener (Amanda) of Burlington, Iowa, Frank of Randall, Minn., Wesley of Chicago, Mrs Chas. Schaffer (Magdalena) of Kansas City, Mo. and Mrs. C. F. Rausch (Elizabeth) of Jordan, Minn., passed away at ten o'clock a.m. Saturday Mar. 10, 1917, after an illness of a few days following a stroke of paralysis. His death is not only a sad blow to wife and family, sisters and brothers but to his many friends.

Mr. Aicher was a Christian man, kind, loving husband and father and always had a cheerful word for everyone.

He was born in New Jersey (sic: New York), 1854 and from there moved with his parents to Burlington, Iowa where he spent his boyhood days.

In 1879 he was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Westerhof at Burlington, Iowa. Later (1882) Mr. Aicher moved to Nebraska where the family spent a number of (12) years. From there he came to Jordan (1894) where he lived for sixteen years and formed a large circle of friends.

About seven years ago (1910) Mr. Aicher moved to Barron, Wis. and resided on his farm there until about a year ago (April 1916) when the family moved to St. Paul where Mr. Aicher spent the remainder of his days.

Among those who attended the funeral from afar were the two brothers and sisters from Iowa, sons William, Ezra, Louis Jr. and Mrs. John Nesvold of Barron, Wis. Mrs. George Wegener of Groton, S. Dak., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Aicher of Randall, Minn., H.A. Engler and Wm. Juni of Jordan, Mr. and Mrs Otto Haferman of Lydia, Minn. and Miss Hazel Ward of St. Cloud. Funeral services were held at the family residence, at 2 p.m. Mar. 13. Interment at Rose Lawn cemetery, St. Paul."

From a Sept. 1960 article about a Louis Aicher family reunion at Ken Haferman's in Prior Lake, MN:

"Mr. and Mrs. Louis Aicher moved to Jordan some 63 years ago where they resided for 23 years during which time they and their family made many friendships in Jordan and Prior Lake. Pictured above are: top row - William Aicher, Seattle, WA; Mrs. Elizabeth Haferman, Prior Lake, MN; Mrs. Amanda Nesvold, Britt, IA; Mrs. Adoph Cordes, Prescott, WI. All but one son of the Aicher family, Louis of Seattle, WA, were able to attend... Three children of the family, Minnie Triden, Ezra Aicher and Mabel Flinn passed away."
