Louise Lambrecht (1948 - 2022)

Brief overview:

Louise (74), and her husband, Johan (75), were attacked on their smallholding in Vlakplaats between Vanderbijlpark and Barrage, Vanderbijlpark, on 19th November 2022. Louise’s body was found in the bath with her hands tied up. Johan, who was seriously injured, was admitted to the Midvaal Hospital with head wounds and various injuries over large parts of his body.

Johan was working on the lawnmower when the three attackers struck. He was kicked repeatedly and dragged to the workshop where he was tied up and beaten with hammers.

The perpetrators demanded money, and when he told them that he did not carry cash, he gave them his bankcard and pin number.

They then went into the house and broke open the safe. They stole a hunting rifle and pistol.

Johan crawled back to the house to look for Louise but could not find her. He lost consciousness at one stage.

Neighbour's realised that there was a problem and called all emergency services.

Neighbour, Annatjie Venter (67) went to the Lamprechts' house, and found Johan bloodied on a sofa in their braai (barbeque) area. "It was not a pretty scene," said Annatjie. "His lips were cut, his eye and cheekbone were badly swollen and his head, arms, legs and clothes were full of blood."

Additional Biographical Information:

The couple apparently lived on their farm for more than 30 years. Residents of the area know them as quiet, neat people who have always gotten along very well with everyone.
