About Lt. Arthur Beaufin Irving

Graduate RMC Canada, 1911; Lieutenant 50th Regiment, 21 November, 1913; resigned 15th September, 1914; Lieutenant Royal Canadian Dragoons, 22nd September, 1914.

"He was serving with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, and was transferred to the 16th Battalion. The day after joining this unit he led an attack. He was seen going forward over the parapet of the trenches to lead his men, but nothing was afterward heard of him."

"Wearing a seven-leaved Holly brooch in his Bonnet he left British Columbia on 28th of August 1914, for Valcartier, Que., where he was taken on the strength of the Royal Canadian Dragoons, CEF, as a Lieutenant on the 22nd September. In France he transferred to the 16th (Canadian Scottish) Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade. The day following his joining the latter Corps, he was in an Order of 6th November, 1916, as 'Reported missing now missing, believed killed, 8th and 9th October.'"
