Lt.-Col. Robert James Leslie Ogilby was the son of Captain Robert Alexander Ogilby. He married Isabel Katherine Webster, daughter of Captain P. C. G. Webster, on 17 November 1936. He died on 27 January 1964.1

He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).

During consolidation when the situation on the right was obscure he made a valuable personal reconnaissance, causing him to alter his dispositions and effectually withstand all counter-attacks. He did very fine work.
