Revolutionary War Jesse Tate, born @1745, died after July 6, 1806 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, @15 August 1815 , and his wife Mary X, are honored by the Daughters of the American Revolution for service: 1) Juror. Their daughter Frances Tate, born @1773 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, died Spartanburg District, South Carolina after 25 October 1850, and her husband Peter Willis. born @1770 in Brunswick County, Virginia, died Coffee County, Tennessee, in1840.[2]

They have two different options. The one they favor is not the one I do.

Option 1 parents: Henry John Tate (1712-1793) & Sarah Elizabeth Netherland (1716 -1802)
Option 2 parents: William Tate (1702 -1751) & Sarah (1702- ?)

I believe the first one. Here is my case: Jesse has a brother named Caleb so he names his kid Caleb. Caleb has a child and names him Netherland Tate, this relationship as his parents is 100% given they are buried in the same cemetery and it is written on Netherlands headstone. His grandmothers last name is Netherland...but no document in front of me. Sarah has no last name could it be Netherland as well? Argh!

My confidence in Jesse and anybody beyond here is about 50% without somebody closer related to them with documentation. I'm related from a different path to all Tate's beneath Caleb, his wife Mary Middleton is my cousin and close family to the Tate's in my family. Confidence lvl 87.546% hehe

Possible path of Caleb M. Tate (3rd g-grandfather of Sharon Tate). Caleb M. has a son named Netherland Lafayette Tate his son is Netherland Leroy Tate. Sarah's last name is Netherland. It sounds logical to me...but peeps on family search seem to favor a William and a Sarah Unknown. Unless her name was Netherland aswell, I think they are crazy.
