Ludwig Engelstad DEERFIELD - Ludwig Engelstad, 66, retired farmer, died suddenly Monday night at his home in Deerfield after a heart attack.
He was born in Norway, came to the town of Christiania when 3 years old, and when 7 moved to the town of Deerfield, where he lived until he reutred in 1933 and moved to the village.
Survivors include his wife, Anna, and three sons, Lester, in the army air corps at Lowry Field, Colo.; Francis, a naval lieutenant on a submarine chaser stationed at New Yrok City, and Julian, in foreign service in an American embassy.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Christensen funeral home, and at 2 at the Liberty lutheran church, the Rev. Enoch J. Tetlie officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
