In Birmingham, Alabama, May 25, 1931, a baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Adams, whom they named Mary Lee. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church in Leeds, Alabama, under the Rev. E.D. James; later she joined the Twenty-Fifth Avenue Baptist Church under the administration of Rev. F. P. Lane.
In the year of 1944, March 14, she was joined in Holy matrimony to Mr. Willie Pettus; to this union came three daughters, two sons.
On Friday, 7:30 P.M. September 17, 1965 everyone was shocked who learned that the Lord had quickly and quietly called her from labor to reward.
The survivors: husband; mother; three daughters; two sons; six sisters; three brothers; five aunts; three uncles and a host of relatives and friends.
